3 medium Vidalia onions (or other sweet onions)
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
Dice onions. Mix with vinegar, sugar and water. Let stand in refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours -- up to overnight. Drain well. Mix in mayonnaise and celery salt. Pour into serving dish and serve on Wheat Thins.
